About the Designer

Yay

Yay is committed to relocating and modernizing the artisanal know-how in fashion jewelry. Each piece of jewelry is made in our workshop in the heart of Paris, the 11th arrondissement. Produced by the power of the hand alone, without machines or soldering, each piece cultivates the work of gesture to give birth to a new art: the art of wire. From these ancestral techniques, the brand plays with lines to think and reinvent designs, while building and perpetuating its know-how. The result is jewels of extreme finesse, woven with fine stones, sometimes more audacious in their pursuit of new proportions. Each piece testifies with precision and creativity to these stories of goldsmithing, each jewel we create is unique.

Carefully thought-out details, judiciously selected materials, with the greatest care and respect for our quality criteria. Mystical knots, dreamy weaves - these are the creative inspirations that enable us to express our identity through signature jewelry. From its Mediterranean roots to its warm allure, gold wire is rapidly evolving into a silver version to meet new desires.

The Brand

Sundays spent painting, crocheting, embroidering or even making pottery. It's a ritual with her mother that forged her creative identity. This is what inspired Julie to create organic jewelry. Starting with what exists. From a precious gold wire that we shape to give life to our jewelry. Dressing women's bodies is what drives her. Creating long-lasting jewelry that you can wear like a second skin is her obsession.

Self-taught, Julie was not born a jewelry expert. But what might seem like a disadvantage has in fact increased her creative freedom tenfold. Today, Julie finds her inspiration at the crossroads of her parents' oriental and Mediterranean culture and her Parisian life.

Care Instructions

How do I care for and clean my 585/1000 laminated gold jewelry?

Gold filled 585‰ is an alloy of gold and brass containing 1/20th gold, i.e. 14 carats or 585‰.

The gold layer is thicker than a conventional gold-plated jewelry, making the jewelry resistant to water and friction.

Over the life of the jewel, however, laminated gold may lose some of its luster and/or accumulate some residue.

To revive your jewels and restore their original luster, use a soft cloth and gently rub the jewel or chain.

To clean them, we recommend bathing them in hot soapy water (colorless washing-up liquid or lemon) and scrubbing gently with a soft-bristled toothbrush.

How do I care for and clean my silver jewelry?

All our silver jewelry is made from 925 silver, also known as sterling silver,
which contains 92.5% pure silver.

To preserve the brilliance of this bright, shiny material, we recommend
that you keep your jewelry away from light for a long time (in a box or
drawer), as silver does not like to remain in the dark.

Wearing your jewels regularly will also help preserve their luster, as
rubbing against the skin will prevent oxidation. If nothing touches its
surface, oxygen deposits and oxidizes it.

If your 925 silver jewelry turns yellow or black, you can clean it in a soapy
bath with a soft-bristled toothbrush or chamois, as with gold filled jewelry.

How do I care for and clean my cultured pearl jewelry?

Cultured pearls are natural, organic pearls that deserve your full attention.

To clean your cultured pearl jewelry, always use a warm water bath, but
this time with just a drop of a non-aggressive dishwashing detergent. And
to scrub, don't use a toothbrush, but gently wipe by hand or with a micro-fiber cloth.
As with silver, wear your jewel regularly to prevent the pearl from drying out, thanks to the skin's moisture, and avoid storing it for too long, as the pearl needs light to “live”.

As cultured pearls are the product of a living organism, their color may change. This is not a defect, it's natural!

How do I care for and clean my 750‰ gold jewelry?

750‰ (18-carat) gold is our most precious material and has the most resistant shine.

As with all other jewelry, we still recommend avoiding corrosive products, as they could tarnish the jewel.

To clean your gold jewelry, use a warm soapy water bath or a special gold jewelry cleaning bath. Then wipe with a chamois cloth to restore shine without scratching.
